Hamish - Irn Bru has been available south of the border for some time now and should be available in your local supermarket.

I just got two twelve packs delivered on Monday and the supply has dwindled fast!
Hamish, I am not a soda person either (I live for my coffee and tea) but I do like the Irn-Bru! It isn't heavily sweet to me like colas or lemon-lime drinks. Must be the quinine?

Shhhhhhh. (Although you don't keep diet in the fridge for your diabetic friends...)
There definitely is a flavour difference between the Canadian and US versions, I've yet to try the original.
Thanks for the info, Mike.

I just got a "Product not found" message from the link, too.

If you go to Caledonian Kitchen web page look for the side menu on the left for Our Products, click on Gourmet Imports and you'll find Irn Bru there.

Great stuff! I am yet to find a way to get it here, thanks for the tips. Interestingly, there is a registered IRN BRU tartan at Scottish Tartan Authority. How about a 4 yard casual?

What shops are those? I've only found it at House of McLaren in Gastown, and it was $2.50 for a can there!
I rather enjoyed it, but now that I know there's (at least) three different versions I'll have to take a trip accross the boarder to try theirs. It's possible that I might be going to Scotland next Summer for the honeymoon, so I'd be able to sample the original then.

The closest to you in Burnaby will be Ye Old Sweet shop in New West (at least they used to have it). Uptown Market in New West (on 6th street). The Thrifty foods in Coquitlam carries the canadian version, and I have seen it at Superstore before.

Having once been a Yank living in Scotland, I found Irn Bru to be an acquired taste, that I have never acquired. I did rather fancy the ginger beer.
Best regards,
Jake
