Having been kilted for more than fifty years I can say with some degree of confidence that the common sporran, no matter how plain or ornate, just doesn't get the job done. The sporran, an accesory with a practical purpose, has not evolved at all. It is still nothing more than a simple pouch. When I go out I need a place for my drivers licence, debit card, cash, cell phone, smokes, and 60 year old Zippo. A mere leather sack just doesn't get it done.
