I'm going to have to have to vote for Isle of Skye, because Pride of Scotland was not an option. What can I say? I love the purples!!!!

    Be well,

I'm voting for the Sackett. The colors fit my preference a wee bit better than the others. The IOS is a close second though.

So, as I've been chatting with my friend Hamner about kilts and tartans, I've been poking about here and there, looking at tartans. I've discovered something interesting -- to me, at least. Not only is there an Antarctic tartan, as modeled so effectively by Barb's daughter, there is also an Arctic tartan -- which has very similar colors, but reversed in order, with the blue making up the bulk of the fabric.

STA #3040, if you wish to have a gander.

I thought it was the DISTRICT tartan for penquins.
While, the Arctic tartan is the DISTRICT tartan for kilted polar bears (drinking a famous American cola).

Antarctic was my number two choice. It is very nice, but I can't see myself wearing it.
Isle of Skye was number 3. Very nice, but not quite the shades of blue I'm looking for.

First choice, as the one that I think has the best colors and one that I would likely wear often, is Maple Leaf! The pictures of others' kilts all make this one goreous IMHO.

Thanks for putting this post together.

    None of the above

I voted for none of the tartans, not because they aren't nice to look at, or at least some may find them that way.

Gorgeousness is in the eye of the beholder. For me tartans are about what they represent. If they represent nothing, they have no appeal. And if they represent something, they are appealing, no matter what they look like.
