    cellphonian dubh?

So I went to a wedding this weekend and the sporran that I ordered didnt make it in time. (remember, this was really my first kilted outing). Not having anywhere to store anything, I tucked my wallet into the waist line on my kilt along with my keys (a might bit uncomfortable), and I tucked my cellphone into my kilt hose. Anyone else done this or something similar?

you can kind of see it in this pic

Oh yes, when I used to smoke a pipe ( for 30 years or so) the hose top was the place it was kept when not in use.I usually keep a £20 note there too,it is such a bind scrabbling around one's sporran looking for money. It is fairly common practice to store bits of kit in our hose tops, here, although I have not come across a mobile phone ,yet. Your kilt will look a treat when the sporran arrives.By the way, congratulations on the pretty lady on your arm and I rather fancy that that is a fine tartan you are wearing.

I guess i'm not familiar with the term "kit" any clarification would be appreciated. And thank you for the compliments both for the lady and my kilt. I am actually MacLeod of Rassay but that tartan is a little bit expensive for kilt wearing college guy so I picked up that SWK for $65 in MacLeod Hunting.

"Kit"is a term that references an "outfit" as a whole. It is a, generally, British term, but one that is sometimes heard in parts of the US (noted as you are in "Mighty MO" -Missouri for those international).

I like the look. It is a bit less "traditional," but one that holds well together.

A minor point: the left leg looks like the elastic for the flash is visible. Generally, the tops of hose (socks) are folded down over the elastic. Trying to be helpful in "kit improvement," I apologize if I am miss-IDing what is in the shot.

    I like it.

By "bits of kit" I mean, glasses, pens, pencils, pipes and er mobile phones!Anything that does not fit into your sporran or is just handier in your sock!I hope you get a chance to visit Rassay one of these days, you will love it.

Why do people on this forum post pictures with lovely ladies in them and then ask questions about the guys. I had to look away and then back to even see there was a guy in the picture.

    Nice first kilt and outfit. There is only one way to go - more kilts, more accessories, more kilts, more . . . . . . . . . . . . .

    OK,

    It's a wedding.
The gal is in a LONG white satin dress with fine trim.
I assumed she was the BRIDE and friend of berserkbishop.
She also has a LARGE ring on her left hand. He does not. SO, logic means he is PROBABLY NOT the groom, NOR is he "her man."
(See, took note but saw no reason to comment and potentially put berserkbishop is a compromising situation.)

He asked about the outfit (particularly the cellphone in his sock/hose due to lack of a sporran in his wardrobe, but expected an time). We answered accordingly.

Ok, I am going to briefly go off topic here(sorry to all),but something that MacWage said, in this thread, has made me wonder.Do married men in the USA(anywhere else?) wear a wedding ring, as well as their wives?
