use construction paper to form a mold around the whole thing
wrap it tight around the masking tape that you put around the antler


melt metal


propane or mapp gas works great

pour in one smooth motion'
pour the metal slighty above the base of the blade

in this picture I'm pouring the pewter between the form and the blade

LET the whole thing set up and cool down for an hour
after you unwrap it should look like this




if you messed up you can just remelt and try again

file down the excess pewter and remove masking tape




roughed out


all that is left to do is the final shaping,sanding,polish and the stain and oil the handle.
that will have to wait until this weekend
