September Belmont Kilt Night
Well, I hate to admit it, but the best picture I have from our monthly gathering isn't even a kilted one. I do know that walkerk has some excellent pictures, which I'm sure he'll follow up with soon. Hint, hint!
I'll just give you the best one right up front....The lead singer/harmonica player for the warm up band (a very nice blues/swing combo) was taking the attention usually reserved for the kilted crew. I'm assuming this is not real snakeskin...
...but maybe it is!
We arrived a little early, sans kids, so we were even able to dance a little. I know pictures were taken, but they were not our kilted crew (who had not yet arrived), so I don't have those pictures. I guess my company isn't that great (), as Panache was so happy to see AlanH and walkerk when they arrived!
Because we were kidless, I think my wonderful husband felt it would be ok to let his hair down. As a result, he tried a few more of the varieties of beer offered at the Devil's Canyon than he usually does and got a little fuzzy around the edges (wait, that's me behind the camera, and I had NOT been drinking, so why is it fuzzy?).
AlanH is wearing the MacNichol tartan (this is part of the same length of cloth he gave me for my very first kilt attempt last year for my son. It's a pretty tartan).
TimC and his lovely bride Damaris brought the album from their honeymoon trip to Scotland. All the really cool pictures were taken by Damaris of course! I didn't try to record the photo album, I just recorded them-aren't they cute?! She has nice lips, err, umm, I mean a nice smile!
We had a very good time. Alan and I got some good dancing in, but when I had broken him (he has a wee injury he is nursing), I went to drag my dear soul mate onto the dance floor and discovered that he had passed beyond the state of physical coordination required for dancing. As he would say, he was "in his cups" (does anyone actually use that phrase anymore?). Therefore we wished everyone a fond adieu and I carried him home!
Be well,

Ah yes "in his cups" is certainly in the vernacular, although it has been quite some time sense I was there myself, it does look like like you had a wonderful time, and I really do like that first shot would love a kilt made of that "fobra"

I do, along with a lot of other phrases many consider anachronistic. I'm glad to hear that I have a fellow admirer of a good turn of phrase.
