That is a sharp look! Thanks for answering the unasked question. Right now I'm off kilt ordering for a while...the plastic is still smouldering like an old tire fire. Working on the wish list now. That last pic really brings out the red - having the same pleasing colors as the IOS, but enough red to make it different.
Guessing you're right about the ancestors. Sam Blake's grandfather Jasper Blake III, came over from Wimbotsham, Norfolk, England probably in the 1650s...but they settled a bit south in Hampton. Fishermen though. The family moved west though, Sam's grandson to Vermont, his son to Ohio, his son to Illinois, his son to Montana, his daughter to Oregon....a mobile clan for sure.
