Yes. Way back when, during, like, the first handful of seasons, Barney was cool. But, those days are past now, and in the past they must remain. It is now, more or less, :crap:.

STOP IT!
My son watches Teletubbies non-stop some days. He commandeers the 42" Plasma in the living room to do so, as well!

"I love you
You love me
We're a happy family
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you
Won't you say you love me too"
In light of a few of the newer ones, Barney isn't all that bad. A few look like their creator is on a drug trip somewhere. It make "Fraggle Rock" seem like Seseame Street.
(I've convinced my kids that Barney scares me, so they will CHANGE the CHANNEL when Barney comes on.)

I remember the first time I saw Barney at a friends house (he had it on for his children). I thought, "what the heck is this?!" Ten seconds was all I could stand.
The Teletubbies on the other hand...they're more articulate than any of our local news anchors.

Oops. We could have said: "Yes, it's a television program, and yes, it's like a cartoon (only worse)."

There's no way I can comment on as much of this as I want to...

Lol, awww. That's absurd.
But ehh ... I was young enough back then that Barney was okay with me. I watched an episode or two on the Sears television when my parents were shopping. Then my sister picked on me, so I started watching Power Rangers.
Boy that was some time ago.
