I know exactly what you mean. Church is 1 of only 3 places I am not kilted. Drawing attention to yourself is not proper at church. I am trying to work being kilted into social events at church. That way, eventualy I will attend Mass kilted without being a distraction. Very, very slow process.

I have worn my kilt to church and I dont think that it detracted from the service or the meaning at all, but I will never wear it when I am asked to get up on stage and perform or give a message. Well, not until my congregation realizes that it is just an article of clothing that I wear that shows my pride in my heritage. Nothing more, nothing less.
