I used to live outside of Big Lake and my brother is still up around Willow.
Possible sources for warm hose?
-a good solid color wader sock (Cabela's if you can't find locally.)
-Watch the Sierra Trading Post (or here, someone usually posts it) for occasional Bridgedale knee sock sales, they are really beefy
--Smartwool Mountaineering socks.
--What Price Glory? Has anyone experience with their wool hose?
--WBSocks on ebay (UK) carries what looks like a really beefy wool blend hiking knee sock.
I own some of the first three, have not yet tried the second two. The bonus on the wader socks is they often come up to mid-thigh or you can roll them down.
