I ordered a Gryffindor house sweater and tie for Halloween this year. lol Im a Harry Potter dork though, so I imagine I'll wear them after Halloween as everyday clothes too. I think the crimson and gold should match my kilt pretty well too :-)

A little off-topic, but I wear my Ravenclaw gear year-round. Some of it looks mighty fine with a kilt, for that matter. 8)

Personally I'm thinking about going as a kilted pirate in a black UK workman.

1) I am totally, completely, 100% against romaticizing pirates in any way.

2) In the Live Journal Men in Kilts community, not too long ago, was a fellow who was doing the kilted pirate look, and made it damn sharp.

I wish it were in my travel plans. I remember the times we made port there, it seemed like a fine place... I'd love to go trap around Balboa park -- kilted, of course.

Now that's just silly, but Panache does have all those listed above and Spiderman, Superman and Batman. Unfortunately they are in underwear form.

And with that, I'll whole-heartedly agree. And I'll repeat what someone else said -- the kilt is subject to individual interpretation. Wear it, don't wear it, whatever makes you happy.

As a side note, a couple of years ago, I wore a kilt with a jacobean shirt on halloween, and my then-girlfriend asked, "What, you're dressing as yourself for Hallows?" It was one of the gateways to my wearing the kilt on a frequent basis.
