A bit of a thank you
Well, after some unpleasant experiences in other places online and hearing some horror stories about friends, I want to say thank you to everyone who makes this forum such a safe, fun and friendly place.
This is like a big, extended family and everyone here is so helpful and friendly.
On top of that, I want to say a HUGE thank you to the mods.
I've only been here for about 6 months, but even in that short period of time I have been able to see some of the nonsense they put up with in order to enforce the completely reasonable rules of this forum.
Xmarks is a wonderful place, so thank you to you all.

I want to second Arlen's sentiments. This is by far one of the friendliest, most positive, focused, well moderated forums I have ever encountered.

Well, Arlen, you've been a welcome addition to the group and a great contributor.
And, yes, this is an island of sanity and civility in an otherwise nasty internet world. When I've spoken about this forum to folks who are involved in other forums they're usually surprised that things go as well as they do and tell horror stories about their groups.
Here's to the Mods!
Here's to us!
And here's to the kilt!
Best

I recently had the experience of a thread being pulled. After further consideration they reinstated it. I appreciated their care and thoughtfulness.

Its obvious that Hank knew what he was doing when he set the rules for this forum. The Mods do a great job of keeping a lid on this place and the combination allows XMarks to flourish.
It's great to visit a place where folks can all be treated with dignity and respect and its obvious I'm not the only one who thinks so. The number of members and volume of daily posts are testimony of a system that works.
Thanks to Hank, the Mods, and the members for giving me a place hang my hat.

I agree. I have surfed to other kilt forums from time to time, and the US vs Europe Debates were very nasty. Then I come here, and go there are GREAT people in the world after all. Besides I like that I have begun to understand Scots (Thanks Pour1Malt). I have seen so many cool projects, and I have been encouraged to try myself.
