Sounds like a good day, SD. I'll add my day's adventures to yours, if you don't mind, as they are somewhat related. Went shopping with my wife today too, wearing my black UK original with hose and flashes. (I mention this as some worry that solid colored kilts won't be recognized by the masses as a kilt.)

Anyway, at the upscale boutiques didn't get any comments, and I am oblivious to looks of one sought or another. Not so at the Costco warehouse store, however. The middle aged African-American woman serving food samples, said loudly something along the lines of: "Ooh, look at that man in a kilt, you are making me hot!" Another woman who helped us asked if I was Scottish. I gave my standard "Just from the waist down" reply, and she laughed along with me. Lastly, a man asked in a friendly way whether there was an event that day. I said "No, I wear kilts anytime I can." Went out for dinner with my kids and to the movies too, with one teenage boy hanging around outside with pals, throwing in a "Nice kilt."

My wife also tolerates my kilt wearing, but doesn't love it. In part I don't think she likes the attention, but, hey, at least its almost all good attention.

    Best regards,

    Jake
