Have a great Thanksgiving.
The Canadian one is to celebrate the end of the harvest. The American one is the anniversary of that Pilgrim & Aboriginal truce dinner (that's if everything I have ever seen is not a lie!)
Sara
Actually, the first "official" (as in declared by proclamation) American thanksgiving day was to celebrate the American victory at Saratoga during the Revolution. It was enacted by the Continental Congress in nearby York, PA. And trust me, the local tourism groups won't let anyone forget that York was the first Capital of the US.
Wow, is that ever true! My wife, born in York, reminds me of that at least once a year..... And also who the real first president of the United States was - Hint - It wasn't Washington!
