I've had someone ask me the underwear question, and I'm quite honest about it. I like wearing ginch (briefs). If they wanna know, I just tell them, so long as they are being polite. And when you get complimented, respond with a thank you.

I think you handled the skirt comment well. I've done the same. I have also said "yep, I like my man skirt." I usually get a laugh from folks when saying that.
