Spent the weekend in a kilt for the first time. I have worn my kilt several times around the house but the girlfriend suggested I wear it all weekend, including to see her mom, so we went to a home coming football game to support a friends daughter (cheerleader) and to breakfast and her moms house for the day. All in all a VERY pleasurable experience. Mostly it was a "non-event" but had one lady at the restaurant yell "all right"! and give me 2 thumbs up as I came in the door and another lady at a community fair come running over to chat with me about kilts. The strangest part of it all was it was my girlfriends idea for me to wear my kilts all weekend. I didn't want to "push" it on her, but she likes them on me as much or more than I do. Photoguy67
Good first outing!
Sounds like a good weekend, and that girlfriend may well be a keeper!
My wife is actively encouraging me to phase out pants all together. Not that it takes any encouragement at all... You're a lucky guy- as am I. My mother in law doesn't like it, but she is one of those people who stays up nights worrying about what people think of her. She's sweet as they come, but I think I drive her crazy some times not giving a crap.
Hang in there - and
Way to go Photoguy67! Since I got my first a bit over a month ago, my kilt has become my favored wear for weekends. After some initial reluctance from my g/f (the one who bought it for me) she now loves that I am kilted so much! As for the reactions from other women and men, I have not had one negative comment. Hello and from Memphis, TN. I see you are in Nashville. I was just there this weekend at the Highland Festival. Think about coming to Jackson, TN November 3rd to the Celtic Fest. I'd love to meet you. If you think you can make it PM me. I'll actually be there Friday night for the ceilidh.
Sounds like a wonderful first time. Keep up the tradition.
