Shopping for clothes.
I ended up at Kohl's after dinner tonight. I'm standing in the men's wear section looking at a pale green casual Oxford shirt when Red_Raven walks up behind me. The first words out of my mouth were "Ya think this shirt would look good with my Weathered MacKenzie?"

Know what you mean, I now tend to buy shirts, t-shirts, etc. that will match my kilts. If I ever come across a bright yellow creation I will then order a 'Loud' McLeod. Really set the neighbors off.

i hate the loud mcleod. i do not think yellow should be a major color for a kilt nor a major, thick stripe.

Tartan with yellow stripes are some of my favorites! I have a yellow shirt that sets them off to great advantage. They are fun and easy to pleat to.

I love the MacLeod of Lewis tartan. That might just be because it is my clan tartan though. . . .

Weird.
In one of my little tales, as I was typing away last night I needed a character to have a kilt, and a connection to a Scottish family.
I put in MacLeod of Harris.
OK, it's not exactly the same name - but next day I open up XMTS and there is MacLeod of Lewis. I mean - that is quite a coincidence - of all the tartans in all the world.....

I think wearing the kilt has made much more aware of colors and clashes. My wife says that it has brought out my feminine side.
Before kiltd, it was jeans and t-shirt...... no more, now it is worry about color match of hose, flashes and shirt....... I love it!

Be careful about commenting about a tartan that has been around for the best part of 200 years, you may not like it and that is your choice.Don't forget that there are an awful lot of MacLeods that do think that it is rather special!
