Have you ruled out renting a jacket and sporran for the event?

Congratulations. Remember even a kilt dressed down is classier than a suit and tie.

My solution. . I've been busy

Heres the solution I came up with and many have I been busy. I took the CRAPPY sporran I got off ebay for fifteen bucks and fitted it with a rabbit pelt. Add some rabbits feet tassles and we have a semi formal sporran. . .not done just yet but it will be. I picked up some soccer socks that are really sharp from a sporting goods store. I think they will look great with the kilt. Last but not least I have purchased a sport jacket and tailored it all in one day. Looks pretty good but I havent tried it all on together. I'll post pics later!!!!!

Holy smokes, slow down man you're going to rupture something. It sounds like you'll be fine.

Once again. It never hurts to post your sizes when you are looking for bargains. Many of us have relics from our past that need new homes. I only mention this because I was a post graduate student for 14 years. I'm a master at finding bargains. O'Neille

Very impressive...you have been busy. I can't wait to see it.

Now just thinking...if you can pull all this off in one day, maybe college is a waste of time for you. I see a new kilt vendor anyday now.

    Just kidding...stay in school!

First Congratulations on the honour. Second you got all that done in one day, all I can think to say is I would hate to see what you could do in a week. I eagerly await the pictures.

I am sure all the hard work you have put into the sporran and the jacket will cause you to appreciate them even more.

I hope you have a great time!

    Again, congratulations!

Congratulations from another Phi Theta Kappa. You're lucky to have the gig. All I ever got was a certificate, guess we weren't organized.

Black soccer socks was gonna be my suggestion too, just be sure they're not so tight that they show through to your skin.

I love vests as an alternative to wearing a sporran - lets more of the kilt show and less of a hassle. But it sounds like you're ready to show off your new creation.

If its not too formal of a gig a nice sweater (back to thrift shops) can look very good with a kilt.

And, I thought there were a couple of large Celtic goods supplier houses there in Missouri?

Anyhow, hope you get this fashion challenge won and can just go and enjoy the event.
