    Do you have a link?

I second Larry's choice of hose. I've got them dyed to match 4 different variants on the weathered colors.

They work great down to about 20F for my skinny legs. By then I'm usually wearing wool pants, and lugging a sled full of toddlers.

I've looked at those (in the catalog, not in person)...how are they? Can you get a nice cuff on the top when you fold them over?

Go to <www.cabelas.com> and search wader socks or the item number.

On my legs they reach to about four inches above the knee at their unfolded length.
I can easily fold them over to just below the kneecap or my preference of about two fingers below.
Because of the varied coloring/texture on the ankle back I like them with boots rather than shoes.
IMHO they look good with my Black Watch (SWK Thrifty) and Weathered Mackenzie (SWK Standard).

    Other:
I’m new to kilts. More research than experience.
Thus far I find that for my own comfort (YMMV) my SWK Thrifty kilts definitely need “underwarming” garments.
    My AK even more so.
Maybe it’s time for them to become indoor-only kilts until Spring.
My first occasion impression is that my SWK standard was much better.
    More trials pending.
Shame on me for not yet having a wool kilt. I’ll have to do something about that.

The “cover the knee” kilt length idea will not work for me. I just do not like the look of it.

Thanks for the link. Yes they look as they would do nicely. I should see if I have a hunting store near me. For a wool kilt might I suggest that you stay with SWK in their heavyweights at $125 you just can't go wrong. That is what I wore this past winter in temps at -25C. A lot warmer than jeans I might add. Don't worry about your knees, there's no meat there to really feel the cold (unless you're trudging through two and a half foot snow drifts).

This sounds eerily like our thread of last week, when I suggested Cabela's wader socks. I'm glad you found some!

    Moosedog,
I did get the idea from your good suggestion there (I just couldn’t remember the thread).
    Thank you!
