what I did this weekend...
...I went fishing at Roaring River State Park. Roaring River is about 60 miles South of Springfield in a beautiful valley. This next photo was taken from the balcony of our room at the park lodge:
My friend Champ & I were at Roaring River this weekend to give a presentation on Ozarks ghosts & superstitions:
And yes, I did practice catch & release this weekend. That little Rainbow Trout was quite the scrapper...or perhaps I've read Hemingway once too often!
Cheers,
Todd

Excellent pics, great scenery.
But, dare I ask, where are the kilts?

Hi, Todd
I was at Roaring River many years ago. Great location!
The trout have nothing to fear from me however. Fished 3 days and not a bite.
Regards,
Tom

They were certainly biting yesterday, but that was the only one I caught.

I hope that a hook is an ancient Scottish weapon, otherwise this and no kilt in the picture could get the thread;
Aside from that I'm glad you had a good time and caught one (which is about one more than I've ever caught).

I posted the thread in the "off-topic" section, where a mention of kilts is not necessary, and fishing is very popular in Scotland, not to mention Norman Maclean's A River Runs Through It.

And if we were doling out sanctions for mentioning hooks, it seems there would be a 'winner' and it wouldn't be cajunscot.
