    Hamish,

Thank you for taking the time to look at the new jacket and offer such helpful comments.

The announcements of the jackets are spread over a couple of different threads so some may not have read my explanation covering the points you brought up.

First, the jacket can be made in a 1 button, 2 button, and 3 button version. The 3 button version is the hardest to get correct so I had these jackets done that way to insure it could be done successfully.

The elbow patches were put on for much the same reason. I like them on the brown Tweed but not on the gray. The jacket may be ordered with or without the elbow patches.

The pocket flaps can indeed be stuffed into the pocket leaving only the slit visible. This is a feature of the best jackets and I specifically wanted that here.

The long lapels shown on the jackets are a result of the button placement and is not something I designed in. Just some added value I guess.

Now to the rumpled look.... I humbly apologize my friend for posting photos that do not show the jackets at their best. In the construction of the Cord and brown Tweed we used a lighter interfacing for a casual look. In the gray jacket we used a stiffer interfacing. However I was in such a hurry to see what the jacket looked like on line that I did not allow enough time after pressing for the jacket to "Hang". Hence the rumpled look. It is entirely my fault. May I please blame it on "The Jones"?

Was that last just a teaser or are you actually planning another trip to Victoria? Bobbie and I would be honored to again host you in our city and we offer you and your traveling companion rooms in our home for your stay.
I will place an order at Murchies Tea Shop, where we enjoyed an afternoon respite, and have your favorite in stock for you.
I also promise to keep this a secret so that you may visit without being mobbed by your admiring N. American fans.

Hey! Wait a minute! First of all, I like you Steve but why should you get to keep Ham to yourself? And secondly I am not part of a mob, as we all know I am part of a rabble, I think the proper verb should "rabbled" as in "rabbled but his admiring N. American fans".

Apologies, Steve, for my tardy response - I am currently on the 'sick-list' with severe (not 'acute') bronchitis and should not really be out of bed. However, when one lives alone it is utterly impossible to remain there 24/7 (I'm only 'up' now to make another cup of tea!). The 10-day course of Penicillin, prescribed by my wonderful Dr. will hopefully see me out and about again 'ere long.

An unexpected return to Victoria? Well, nothing is carved in stone, but there is a strong possibility that I could be heading your way sometime in the August/September/October period next year, before I head down to Palm Springs for a lengthy stay. This is just a plan I am tossing around in my head at the moment - so much will depend upon the financial situation nearer the time. I'm truly touched by the kind invitation Bobbie and you have extended and I will most certainly not overlook it! Thank you both and I'll keep you posted. By the way, I would probably be travelling alone, so I would be only half the burden!

Tea at Murchies - definitely an experience to be repeated!

Oh, yes! This must be kept a secret. I'd not want anyone else to know about it ........ until after the event.

    Hugs to you both, and
