Welcome aboard,
Good choice for a first kilt.
I waited, wanted top of the line. Here's what a hand sewn 14oz Leatherneck looks like on a beer belly.

Here's the backside...pleats in the wind.

Kathy Lare, who's also a Marine mother, sewed it up. Was kilt #1002 for her. Set me back $460.00 but she makes it easy with half down on order then the other half isn't due until completion.
I love it both for what it stands for, and for the beautiful tartan it is.
Realize funding may be an issue, but its a worthy goal. I was tempted to go with a less expensive Leatherneck tartan but once I saw it in 14oz wool at a highland games there was just no other way to go for me.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."
