    Kilt sale

I've decided to sell one of my kilts and I thought you guys might be interested. It's made from 8 yards of Marton Mills Jura (heavyweight) cloth and is in superb condition (it's just under two years old), and the only reason for the sale is personal reasons. Postage to the USA would be in the region of $40, but if anyone is interested I'll take it to the post office and get an exact price. The sale is through ebay and here's the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=140165138922

I just noticed this thread, and see that the sale on ebay is closed. Should I assume that the kilt is sold?

I checked out the Kilt on e-bay and the hume tartan is quite handsome.

    Good luck with your sale

The kilt didn't sell and I've decided to keep it after all. The reason I tried to sell it was because I've had my heart set on one of the replica military kilts from What Price Glory. I only ever bought the Hume kilt as a rather expensive 'casual' kilt (it's too dark to wear for 'dress' occasions - the proper Hume dress tartan is the ancient colours - and I have two other kilts which fill this role anyway) and decided to sacrifice it, as with the exchange rate being the way it is at the moment I thought I couldn't afford to wait. Also, I bought myself a new Buchanan kilt last July and felt that I couldn't justify buying another so soon. If I could have got the price of a What Price Glory kilt it would have been a sort of straight swap, as I would be wearing the new Gordon Highlander's kilt on the same occasions that I would have worn the Hume one. Anyway, after it didn't sell my wife took pity on me and let me go ahead and order one from What Price Glory after all. So now I have the best of both (or I will when my new 22oz military kilt arrives ).
Thanks for all your responses, but most of all thanks to my wife for being so understanding !
P.S. When I get my Gordon Highlander's kilt I'll post pics.

Glad to hear that you can have your kilt and wear it to. (bad pun) sorry, Excited to see pictures of the Gordon military kilt. A boxed pleated Gordon will be my next purchase as I am saving up for a tank. And Gordon is my clan.

I'm glad that you're getting a WPG (I've wanted a Gordon from them for a LONG time), but explain why you can't wear the Hume for dress occasions. It's a beautiful tartan, and I think it would look great in formal occasions!
