Kilted at school
Today, I went to school kilted. I was wearing my Robertson Ancient Hunting from Geoffrey (Tailor) with Doc Martens boots and a t-shirt of a band called 1990s. It's a green shirt, so it goes well with the tartan.
As usually, I went by metro/underground/subway. Lots of funny looks from strangers, but also a lot of approving smiles.
Went I got to school, nothing but positive comments, from both students and teachers.. Got asked a lot of questions: "Is that your family tartan?" "Aren't you cold?" "What's that little bag for?" and of course the eternal "Are you wearing anything under that?". A few people even wanted to take pictures (not of what was under the kilt, mind you )
I'm going to wear it again tomorrow

I go to school kilted most of the time, and I get mostly positive responses. There is a young lady in my nursing class who keeps trying to get 'upskirt' pictures of me, though... which, come to think of it, is a kind of positive response, itself.

I get a whole range of responses.
one kid asked me why I wasn't wearing my clan tartan and we had a whole conversation about that, several girls asked me why I was "wearing a skirt"
one girl even tried to outsmart me with the typical "kilts are wool and plaid" which thanks to Mr. Newsome's site, I know is far from the truth.
I've made some friends because of it, and the girls who are more educated ask me the question every kilt wearer gets "what's under the kilt?"

Excellent, we need more youngsters to wear kilts to school to lead by example.

I wear my SWK Standard MacLaren every day (well, now that my two Frugal Corner kilts have arrived, I'll probably switch off between them). I'm hoping to eventually get all the men in the university choir to go kilted. Progress is slow, but steady.
