I have a pair of brown RM boots which I was planning on wearing with the brown sporran and belt so no problems with differing colours. I agree that the boots are better with jeans or pants but at the moment are all I have till I can raise the funds to buy a new pair of hiking boots or something similar. They'll do for the time being.
Cheers

My two cents: avoid mixing colors, and the boots look a little too dressy for your casual kilt ensemble. Maybe a grey shoe, hiker, or casual boot. Ditto for the sporran.
