I can get a lot accomplished in little time but I think sewing a kilt is a little beyond my talents. I was confused enough on the jacket. I am no where near good enough to pull of moving pockets and what not, and really if I had taken some close ups of my hemming work all the experienced sewers on this forum would have fainted I am sure. I'm just glad no one at the event was looking that closely. I will hopefully just have my next jacket tailored, and probably have this one fixed up properly as I grow fonder and fonder of it. Thanks to all you DIYers for posting your jacket conversions. I could never have pulled off so much in so little time without the knowledge and support of this forum!

One thing though, generally one wears a kilt jacket open. It's a better look.

Something I found very interesting in this thread was the number of PTK alum. Let me also pass along congratulations. I was a miserable student in high school, but eventually went to college even though it was much later in life. As a result I was a very serious student -- I was paying for it after all! Glad to see you are taking care of business early, rather than later. I can tell you that every effort you make now will directly add to your quality of life later.

The 'can-do' attitude and ingenuity with kilt ensemble was excellent. I would have expected no less from a PTKer.

Thanks for that bit of advice. . . Had I known that before I wouldn't have worried so much about what the dang thing looked like buttoned up. Oh well, ya live and learn. Thanks for the advice!

A very nice outfit indeed, I am sure it will see you through many morre functions. The only thing I might suggest is to invest in a dressier belt when you can. I think that would set off the outfit perfectly.
