I tend to agree, the only thing that looks off to me is the sporran. Everything else is for function rather than for style. Wellies don't look good with anything but they are what they are. I quite like the look of a Barbour jacket with a kilt. Probably because I grew up seeing it and I wear one with a kilt. Even though it is longer than you would want for a kilt jacket, its purpose is protection and the longer jacket does that.
So for me with the exception of the sporran, the outfit is a DO.
