    Ted Turner...

That's actually a Barbour wax jacket, which is worn by quite a few kilties, even a few here. It's perfect for walks, stalking, fishing, etc.

Personally, I've seen much worse outfits. If Ted would get rid of the dress sporran, he would look like a country gent out on the grounds of his estate.

I tend to agree, the only thing that looks off to me is the sporran. Everything else is for function rather than for style. Wellies don't look good with anything but they are what they are. I quite like the look of a Barbour jacket with a kilt. Probably because I grew up seeing it and I wear one with a kilt. Even though it is longer than you would want for a kilt jacket, its purpose is protection and the longer jacket does that.

So for me with the exception of the sporran, the outfit is a DO.

    I need to shorten it.

    Oh please ... Don't - Skiltron

I don't have a picture of this one I saw on Myspace but Skiltron, a music group from Argentina - shirtless guys in kilts. One of them appears to be the right length but most are too long.
Fierce face paint and kilts - Do.
    All that with too-long kilts - Don't.

Santa just needs black boots I think.
