It was great to meet the "out-of-state" contingent. Wish I could have joined the lads for dinner but it was great to meet each of you.

					OK, OK
God bless me, I just got back to Florida. I left Atlanta this morning and eight hours later I am home. I tried to post the pics from the hotel but the speed was not there. So will post pics soon.

But this weekend was great, meeting the Xmark guy was like meeting old friends. I felt I had known these guys for years. We had fun at the Games and had something from Turpin sporran it was smokey and alittle salty, maybe he will remind me what it was....(you won't believe what he can fit in that thing)

The Dinner was a whole difference story and I will let one of the others tell you about it because I was sworn to silence..

Here's a tease, the meeting point..

Camping was excellent. Saturday nite a large group gets together, mills about socializing a while, then gets organized. This year a small contingent the LA Scots pipe band from New Orleans, along with their two world class drum majors (ist and third, I believe), piped the group in a parade around the campground, followed by a haggis (with address declaimed in high style) and a fine 21 y/o glenmorangie (i think). Then all adjourned to the campground pavilion for a caleidh. It was a true, informal caleidh with anyone who wanted to getting up to share whatever their talents are. My friend Jonathan (Shawhighlander), who is currently recording in Nashville, sang a couple of sons to cries of "Encore!" My daughter led a round of Molly Malone and shared a group sing of Londonderry Aire (Danny Boy). My son and his friend did a goofy little dance, then acted out a Youtube video about Cunningham Muffins. The drum Major stepped outside and, in poor lighting conditions, gave a VERY impressive demonstration including spins an helicopters to a piper's accompaniment. One of the female drummers was also a world class flutist and shared that with us. Some of the kids juggled. The LA Scots performed a remarkably upbeat arrangement of Amazing Grace - reminded me of one of those N'awlins funerals.

 How was the camping, Turpin?

It was a really enjoyable evening. I recommend the experience to everyone. Even if you don't camp, come to the caleidh on Saturday at Stone.

It's good to put faces to names. thescot, I'd never've recognised you on the street, looking good though. Shriner love the tartan, Turpin, mkfarkus was right, you really do look like your sporran . Cavscout you look much younger than your avatar.

I was there unfortunately I was not able to make it to the meeting of the Clan Xmark due to scheduling of the piping events. I didn't do bad but I could have done better that's the way it goes.
Got to see a dear friend from High School and her son, she is a member of the Country Dance Group there in Atlanta and I got to see and take part in a few dances that was fun. My Dad was there and had a great time. I haven't gotten him kilted again yet, but I am working on it.

I saw several of you in my ambling about, but was not able to say hi due to most were a distance away and heading away from me or were otherwise engaged, Matt was very busy when I saw him in the Tartan Museum tent. It was a beautiful day and I had a great time. Next year I am going to be up with the camper.

Did any of you attend the whisky tasting on Friday? I had to miss it due to fatherly duties for my oldest daughter's Senior Night (she is a captain in her school marchng band). I had no idea traffic around Atlanta was as heavy as it was at 1AM!

Glad everyone had a good time and I hope to make to some of the kilt nights up that way when I am up visiting my folks again.
