    Scottish Historian, David Ross

speaks exclusively to Scotland on TV about the Scottish Diaspora, including the importance of their Scottishness and the kilt to Scots communities abroad.

We also filmed the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra last week, which we hope you will enjoy.

New Videos on Scotland on TV

We've just uploaded a couple of new films to the web channel, which we thought you would enjoy.

The first one's all about the increasing popularity of piping with the young folk of Scotland. stv's Vicky Lee meets TNT (The New Tradition), a kilt-wearing group of 3 young guys who are breaking new ground in upping the profile of pipe music amongst the Scottish youth. Vicky also visits a group of young pipers from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, who are even attracting female juvenile members!

You can find the video here: http://www.scotlandontv.tv/scotland_...d=1380_SMG1863

And last week, we visited the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming in Edinburgh. Take a look at the video we made to learn more about the school & for a kilted rehearsal performance by the students.

    Enjoy!

I couldn't see them rehearsing in kilts...

They are clearly achieving a good standard though. Good to see Gurkas taking up the pipes too.

Oops, sorry! There are some nice tartan pipes, though

We have more videos to come from the school - performances & a feature on the school itself - if you enjoyed this one. It's a great establishment. They should be cut and uploaded within the next week.
