I think of the kilt as a garment. I mostly just wear mine around the house. The one I wear the most is an all cotton black watch sport kilt that is great for just lounging around the house. The pleats don't hold for crap, but wear it for comfort not style. That being said, I wear a nicer kilt if I'm leaving the house.
