My feet aren't quite that small, but I do wear an 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 pretty comfortably depending on the shoe and maker, so I understand having small feet. The hose I ordered supposedly were the right size for me. . . . I may just try giving them a quick run under warm water or something. I will try the elastic garter thing as I really dont care for the look of flashes unless I am going semi-formal/formal. Thanks all.

Would buying childrens socks help the fit of ittybittyfeets?

BB, they should shrink up a little bit as you wash them a few times. Try to avoid stretching them as they dry.
If these are the 80 percent wool socks, they stay up on my legs about 50 percent of the time. :-) I think mine are improving as I use them, they seemed a tiny bit large when new.

If you don't have some flashes that you can easily slip off of their garters, you can make a pair with elastic and velcro.

Better yet instead of the velcro get a package with some small vest buckles. Generally a 2 pack will cost you about $.99. I like using buckles because:

 -They are adjustable

-They don't stick to your kilt hose

-They take less stiches to attach to the elastic than the two parts of a velcro closure

Another reason to use the buckles as Jamie has suggested is that they will not cut into your leg as much as elastic with velcro.

Back before I had flashes I used rubber bands. If you do that, make sure they're big enough not to affect your circulation. Rubber bands are basically free at this point (I can get 1000 of them at my dollar store, so I guess a set of rubber bands costs 0.2¢ plus tax)
 Always a pleasure,
 Matt!

Just use the garters from the flashes to hold them up, or better yet, go buy some 1" velcro strips (6- 12 inches long ). Sew them together so that they close like this:

Rugby socks are okay, but everytime I have seen someone wearing the rugby hose, the hose look translucent. I don't know about you, but socks that people can see through are not my cup of tea. Much too thin for me.

I have a pair of black hose that become somewhat translucent... I wear black compression sports socks under them, so you can't see squat.

As for my choice of hose, I found the ones available from Hamilton Dry Goods to be great. $30 for 3 pairs of knit cotton socks, delivered to my door...

I agree with you completely. Also if the hose don't have enough bulk it looks odd to me. There needs to be a knitted pattern to give the hose the right look.

What rugby hose, and the like, are good for is for scrunching during the summer months since they can be washed so easily.
