Well, Jerry came through quickly as rumored and here is my first kilt. It seems a little long so I'll have to get it hemmed I think. I'm still waiting on my belt and sporran to come in, but everything else is great. I'm really surprised at the quality of this kilt.
Now that's an interesting tartan! Wonder where I've seen it before Wear it with double pride!!
Not necessarily long, it looks like you can hike it up were it belongs 1-2" above the navel. Looking good. Just be sure to move the flashes around more to the front.
Looks like Jerry did it again, I would hike it up a wee bit, the stillwaters are a traditional cut therefore they should be worn at the true waist ie your navel or an inch or two higher, once you have it up there I'm sure the length wont be as bad, and as ccga3359 says bring the flashes up a little. Congratulations on the first kilt, it's all downhill from here.
It's a beauty. Congratulations!

Thanks guys. I'm trying to remember, but I'm thinking that the kilt was over the navel in these pics. I'll have to see tonight. I'll move the flashes forward though.
Hi, 12Stones, Yes, try hiking it up a bit, it looks from the photo as if it might work. Also when you put on a wide belt it will take up a bit of slack in the material and will balance the length of it in proportion to the rest of your body. Your hose look good--if you make sure to wear them low enough that creates more space between the kilt and hose and also makes the kilt appear the proper length. That is a beautiful kilt and I'm glad you're enjoying your new kilted life! Thank you for posting pictures. Moosedog
I think it looks great as well...The flashes match perfectly, but yes they may require a bit of geographical anatomical adjustment.
