I vote silver buttons, there are several places on the net to find them. Gold may be harder to come by but I think there are some at www.highlandxpress.com/buttons.html

Well, of course! But I thought maybe you had purchased it for a really special occassion? Like the Christening of a first born, or to open a really old bottle of Scotch, or to put new batteries in the scooter...... You know something special!

You have been busy with 5 kilts and now the jacket. Looks great. I think I would look for a contrast button - black buttons should look good against the white and would be the opposite of a traditional PC with silver buttons against black.

You could possibly use the clips that hold buttons in place so when you would like a different color you can quickly change them.
Maybe match the color of the kilt?

Are you going to wear a white shirt? Colored shirts tend to show through a white jacket making it look cheap.

I thought about a colored shirt, but you are correct, only white shirts.
