Warhoover - The material is very coarse and 'scratchy' but that's part of the fun of wearing it. Billy Connolly complained of this when he wore an old kilt during the filming of 'Mrs. Brown'. He said he was glad to take it off at the end of filming. I love the feel of a heavy kilt, with the pleats 'swinging' behind me, it's a fantastic sensation. However, I have to admit that this kilt is almost too heavy! I certainly wouldn't dream of wearing it to a fomal function, it's far too rough looking for that. No, this one is purly for outdoor winter wear. In fact, after wearing it for most of the day yesterday I tried on one of my 16oz Lochcarron Strome kilts which felt really light, a very strange sensation!

Ron - Yes I do like those battle blouses and one is on my wish list (along with one of those trench coats!). The trouble is that every time I get a bit of money together I go and spend it on a new kilt!. Last summer I got the money together to buy a new tweed Argyle jacket off ebay. The seller emailed to say that he hadn't got my size but would get one made for me with the option of buying it when it was ready. Then Argyle Kilts & Bagpipes ran an ebay auction offering a kilt with a starting bid of £185 (extra £40 for a heavyweight). I made a bid and won the auction, so the jacket had to go on the 'back burner' for a while.
