Repro of early Scottish fowling piece

I am off to my library and possibly the bookstore. I cannot find any connection between fowling pieces and small bore, but I love reading and getting reacquainted with my books won't be a bad thing.

Some North West trade guns - all smoothbores - had bores as small as 28 gauge! Happy reading....

Dang that is nice. All I had seen was full stock type smoothbore sporting arms so I made mine a full stock. Time to buy more parts. My work is nowhere near that nice though. Mine is just a good functional work a day piece.
