yeah, my wool kilts are much cooler actually than any of the others I have, whether it be pv or acrylic. I have a stillwater heavy weight that is quite comfortable on hot days, much more so than even the light PV kilts. My clan tank I dont wear enough to really judge, I'm afraid I'm going to stain in everyday use

I don't know what your hose budget is, but you might want to consider our Lewis Hose:
    http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/hose.htm

They are a Merino wool/Acrylic blend, but are very comfortable to wear. I speak from personal experience. I don't find them hot or uncomfortable in the least. The sock itself is a bit thinner than our standard kilt hose, but the cable knit design at the top gives the look of a thicker sock. And they are extremely durable and not as likely to shrink as a sock with a higher wool content.

Ask Riverkilt for a review, he has a pair or twelve.

As for the hose that shrunk -- I think the thing to do is make a charitable contribution to someone with smaller feet. :-)

Trying to match something from USA Kilts? These are offered at USA Kilts:

I have a pair in green and navy blue from them. They're quite nice, I think.
