    1) How often do you wear the kilt?

As often as I can, but usually two to three days weeks.

    2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?

I don't get to wear it daily as I deal with heavy foundry and recycling equipment and there are OSHA regs concerning loose fitting clothing around moving machinery. I do contracting as well and have worn my cheapies to do some carpentery.
    3) How does your significant other feel about it?

She rolls her eyes and gives me the "there he goes, pretending to be Mel Gibson" look.
    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?

I tell them that my mommy quit dressing me many years ago.

(I have a very good, very old friend (a girl) who just could not believe that I wear a kilt in public. She gave me a really hard time about it over dinner with other friends. I was really surprised at her reaction. None of my guy friends have reacted that way.)

She may a felt threatened by your masculine confidence.

    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?

    Yes, I hope so.

    6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?

Absolutely! I would love to see them accepted as just another choice of garment.

Thank you for your post. Just to be clear: I'm not looking for a girlfriend. I don't think my current girlfriend would appreciate it. She is pretty cool about the kilts. She's never complained anyway. I think she appreciates the fact that I don't let what others say affect my judgement.

    Peace.

    1) I wear mine for special occasions or events.

    2) I don't wear mine daily, but I could wear it to work if I wanted. But there'd be a risk of it getting quite dirty or damaged.

    3) She likes it when I wear it.

    4) Never had my motives questioned yet.

    5) Yes, I do.

    6) No. However, I would like to see the kilt more accepted and understood.

    1) On special occasions or if I'm in a good mood.

    2) N/A

    3) No significant other present at the moment.

    4) I leave them be. I know why I want to wear a kilt, and that's enough for me.

    5) Yes, I've been seeing more kilts pop up lately

    6) Yes. But I don't want it to become a fad. Fads go away, and I don't want kilts to go away.

    1) How often do you wear the kilt? Anytime I am not at work. My day job requires kaki or gray tru's. Night job requires "kitchen pants" & cooking jacket.

    3) How does your significant other feel about it? At first she despised it, even though it was she that bought me my 1st kilt. She thought I'd only wear it to highland games. BIG suprise to her. She has warmed up to the idea now. I gave an ultimatum.

    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt? Depends on the sex of the one asking. With men I am more frank about the practicality of the whole think.

    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular? a tiny, tiny bit. maybe.

    6) Do you really want them to be more popluar? O' yes.

    1) How often do you wear the kilt?
    Almost every day.
    2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
Lawyer. I'm self employed though part of my work involves sitting regularly as Magistrates' Clerk for which I wear a black kilt. The only time I wear trousers to work is when I need to address the Sheriff in his court which is maybe six seven or eight times a year. I'm also a part-time volunteer guide at an aviation museum where I normally wear a kilt in Royal Air Force tartan. The only days I wear trousers is if I'm rostered to do guided tours of the Vulcan bomber, as this involves climbing ladders.
    3) How does your significant other feel about it?
She says I suit the kilt and encourages me to wear them.
    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
Not had much problem as I live in Scotland and I am three-quarters Scottish. The only abuse has been the very occasional insult shouted from the safety of a moving car. If anyone asks I just say the kilt is comfortable and is better suited to the male anatomy than trousers, or my wife wears trousers and I want to dress different from her.
    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
    Very slowly yes.
    6) Do you really want them to be more popular?
Yes, I'd like to see lots more guys wearing kilts every time I go out.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

    1) How often do you wear the kilt?
    As often as I can.

    2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
Can not wear it at work (Dress Codes don't you know)

    3) How does your significant other feel about it?
She loves the idea, the 3 kilts that I own she has bought for me

    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
I guess I am pretty luck, I have had only one negative comment since I started wearing a kilt. everybody else except 2 of my daughters don't even say anything.

    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?

In some places yes I do, but have not seen a lot here in St.Louis Mo except at the Ren Faire and the Scottish Games.

    6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?

    Yes I would

    Thanks for your time.
    And you are quite welcome

    1) How often do you wear the kilt? Some evenings and on weekends (including to church)

    2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress? My brother wears his full-time - he works for the feds - I guess if anyone said anything it would be discrimination.

    3) How does your significant other feel about it? No significant other

    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt? I mention my Scottish heritage and the comfort of wearing the kilt. I live on the far North side of Chicago - even the gangbangers have made positive comments.

    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular? dont' know but I don't care.

    6) Do you really want them to be more popluar? doesn't matter.

At least 4 days a week.......I'm off work with a back injury right now so I can't say that a kilt would be welcome at work.
