    1) How often do you wear the kilt? I have worn nothing else for 8½ years, and wore the kilt roughly twice a week on average for the previous 48 years.

    2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress? I am retired.

    3) How does your significant other feel about it? Alas, there is now no significant other. We were together for 36 years - he was also a Scottish Country Dancer and kiltie from before we met. If he were still alive, he would obviously have no problems with my kilt wearing at all

    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt? I have not been asked about my motives for a very long time - it is just accepted! Were I to be asked, I would probably reply: I wear it for comfort. (My Scottish 'heritage' beyond my grandmother is unknown and does not therefore hold a great deal of importance for me, although I have always felt more Scottish than English).

    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular? Worldwide? Yes, mainly in North America but not in this part of the United Kingdom.

    6) Do you really want them to be more popluar? Yes - although, if they were, I would be less of a 'celebrity' around here!

    1) How often do you wear the kilt?
About twice a week. I own only one kilt right now, and even if I had more, I have four pairs of hose, so if I do laundry every other week, that's twice a week. As I get more kilts and hose, I will wear them more.

    2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
Other than being a student, I work part-time in food service, and my boss loves the kilt because it "shows our commitment to diversity." At this point, I show up kilted to job interviews

    3) How does your significant other feel about it?
She seems pretty indifferent. It would be cool if she actively liked it, but I'm also grateful that she doesn't dislike it, so there you go.

    4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
My responses range from, "it's better than pants" to "I'm Scottish" and from "because I am cooler/better than you" to "because I can twirl!"

    5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
Yeah, they definitely are seeing a resurgence. Not a major one though.

    6) Do you really want them to be more popular?
Kind of? I don't know. I guess I don't really care. I'd like them to become more accepted, but I don't want them to become a fad, only to be abandoned a couple years later, because them I'm not weird, I'm "passé."

Then again, I'd reply that I wore kilts long before they were cool, and will continue long after they were cool.

    So I guess I don't care?
