I'm sorry for the confusion.
They are two different Pipers.
Here are the badges and Tartans of the Scottish Regiments during the Great War, please note that I have placed the badges on the Regiments particular tartans.
Certain Regiments did back their badges with tartan on Tam "O" Shanter's but not all, I have used this method as matter of convenience and will explain as I go along.
Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (kilted)
Government Sett but was slightly lighter in shade to that of the Blackwatch
No tartan backing was worn with this badge

Today is Remembrance day in Britain, (11th Nov) when we commemorate the Nations war dead. from both world wars and conflicts since 1945.
During the Great war Scotland lost over 100,000.
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them".
Laurence Binyon

Wonderful thread thanks all who have added to it. I thought I would add a link to the thread about the 48th Highlanders museum tour that I took earlier in the year

Thanks for the great link McMurdo.
By a strange coincedance a guy who was born in the small village I live, went to live in Canada before the Great War joined the 48th and was killed in 1916 and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Ypres.
