Already being done - look here.

Do corn snakes eat corn? How long would you have to keep the little darlings around before you could chop their heads off and tan their hides?

You think you're joking, but I've been raising my python, boa, and milk snake for nearly 20 years now, always with the intention that I'll be tanning them eventually. At this point, Pandora (the ball python) is going to be a sporran and Prometheus (the Sinaloan Milk Snake) will make a very good belt (although a hat band would work as well):

Perseus (the Red Tailed Boa) is going to be boots (for me!):

Milk snakes were called such because farmers believed they were drinking the milk of the cows in their barns, when in reality, they were eating the mice and rats attracted to the cattle feed. Likewise corn snakes-associated with their prey's food.

I imagine to make a decent hat band, one would have to wait at least 5 years. In that picture, there are seven of the "little darlings" in there! Unfortunately, they are not mine-I was just "snakesitting" for a week.

    Be well,

That must be fun, showing off the slitherens to the kiddies!

    Nice pets!

Let's hope that it's a long time before Pandora's Box is opened.
