That picture really makes me miss my pet Burmese python, Morticia. She grew too big for me to handle safely so I had to donate her to an exotic pet store.

That must be fun, showing off the slitherens to the kiddies!

The kids love it almost as much as I do! Oddly enough, it's usually the little girls who are most eager to handle the snakes and the boys who tend to hang back (oh, and the parents are usually quite intimidated).

Yeah, Perseus is at a size where I prefer not to handle him when I'm alone, but he wouldn't compare to a full size Burmese! You were lucky to have a pet store take yours. Last time we were at the San Francisco Zoo, they were doing a presentation on pets, and commented on how they are overwhelmed with large snake "donations" from people who didn't quite know what they were getting into.

    Be well,

I gave up my Burmese python about 15 years ago. She was over 10 ft. long, I was in between apartments and I couldn't provide her with a good home. Luckily, one of the local pet store owners was a big fan of snakes and made her the store mascot. She actually drummed up a lot of walk-in business. I still miss her sometimes but I know she had a better place to live than I could provide for her at the time.

Upgraded the camera and now wear a side pouch for it. Wear the Cell phone on the belt, too! Not really much in there now.
