Man thats a nice heavy weight kilt, I really like the Gordon.
Now I wonder if a 34" would expand to fit my 35" waist?
And I wonder if a 24" would be to long for my normal 22" length?????

The sizes you quote should be alright. I was measured by a kiltmaker in Scotland last July as a 47inch waist (while on holiday and after a hearty breakfast), but the 46inch WPG kilt fits me fine. Tight but O.K. on the first hole and comfortable on the second (middle) hole. Also length wise it wouldn't hurt to be a bit longer than your normal kilt as these really are genuine 'high rise' kilts, where the waist band is that much deeper than the ordinary (civilian) kilt, hence it's more comfortable to wear it much higher, even as high as the lower ribs. I'll let you into a wee secret. I decided after about a week that my kilt was just too short and have managed to sell it and am awaiting the replacement any day now, in a longer length. The 25inch (actual size only just over 24inches) came to just on the top of my knee. However, it did feel more comfortable higher up on my body which brought it just too short (not too bad till I bent forwards ).

With a 32inch waist kilt the tightest fit should be 31inches, which is still 5 inches too big. You can however make an extra hole right at the start of the strap to make the waist even smaller. However, measure yourself right up just under your ribs and you may find that your a little bigger there and that's where the kilt will sit. Your hips should stop the kilt from slipping down, so just strap your belt on tight and hopefully all should be well. I know it's a lot of money to pay out if the fit isn't just right, but I'm sure in the worst case you could have the strap moved to ensure a perfect fit.

You can move the underapron strap towards the center about 4 inches and the right side buckles toward the rear about the same. That's typically how you make a larger kilt small, which is much easier than the other way around.

Yon is a braw looking kilt, ma mate wis a Gordon Highlander a hae seen the kilt many times an' ye hae an exact replica, weil done!!!

My Grandfather always wore his higher, what he called "Army style" and I have always worn mine the same. Like you I think its more comfortable and if I wear an Argyle or PC I don't have to worry about my shirt peaking through below the waist coat or buttons if I have it buttoned.
