A gold star for Erin
Steve, I appreciate the note you enclosed with my new Freedom Kilt. But there was no need to apologize. Remember, my friend, I told you to take your time. I believe I also said good things are worth waiting for and I certainly was not disappointed.
This morning I went to the Post Office to pick up my new 8.23 yard, 16 oz. Freedom kilt in the X Marks the Scot tartan. This kilt has been in the works since back in February, through no fault of Steve's. We've been through a botched batch of tartan, having to wait on a second run and a shop move for Steve et al, but this kilt is a masterpiece to behold and was well worth the wait.
Erin crafted up a charcoal poly-cotton dress kilt for me a few months back and I was very pleased with how it turned out. And it's quite plain to see Erin has been perfecting her craft in the ensuing months.
I still need to remove the basting stitches and I'm probably a week away from having any one around to drive the camera for me, but I did strap the kilt on for a quick trial and the fit is superb. I'll post pictures to this thread when I am able to get some taken.
Erin, if you're going to do excellent work like this, I may just have to talk to your employer about ordering another kilt. I will, of course, be specifying he assign the job to you. You definitely hit this one out of the park!

Congrats on the new kilt. Did you opt for the front slash pockets? Man, I just love those pockets.

Yep. Imagine that, a traditional tartan kilt with slash pockets. But if my hands aren't in them, you would never know they are even there.

Mike, I know you didn't specify it but what do you think of the under-apron pocket?
And please let me know what you think of the side slash pocket liner to prevent your keys or dirt from damaging the Tartan.
ps
And have you found the mistake yet?

Yea Grant, but just think about it. There's Mike spends hours sweating and looking over the kilt with a magnifying glass looking for some small mistake. While you and I are sitting back smiling.
Oh, I'm terrible.

Steve, the under-apron pocket is really a great addition.
As for the 'mistake', are you referring to the outer apron closing on the left, rather than the right?
Would everyone be so kind as to excuse Steve, whilst he goes for a fresh cup of coffee to replace the one he just dumped all over himself?
Now who's the terrible one?
OK, now that you've sufficiently recovered, are you referring to the twill lines? Had you not mentioned them in your note, I most likely would never have noticed.

The mistake Mike is that we sent you the wrong kilt. That kilt should have gone to someone else. Please mail it back to me.
