    I don't think kilt hose are so necessary. I mean, personally I wish I had like 10 pairs of them in different colors, but that's just me. He doesn't need to have them right off. Boots and shorter socks look good with a kilt.

    A sporran is more necessary but a shirt/coat/jacket/sweater with pockets will also allow you to carry things. It is a pain though. Still a cheap sporran is often not that much of an improvement in carry capacity in my limited experience.

    I guess I personally would want to get the best kilt I could for the money. It's cheaper to save up and add accessories over time than to upgrade to a new kilt. That's just me though and from what I've heard on the forum, I'm sure the cheaper options already mentioned in this thread will be great kilts. so the question for you Kent is this: are you looking to buy an outfit for 250? or a kilt?

    Yes, this is what I had in mind in going right to the USAK semi-traditional.
