For a bleeder it looks like the ink took well. Make sure you don't over wet the scabs that come. I find with straight black work that you notice it the most when people don't take care of the scabs.

Great design on an old idea. It looks like a fresh idea with the black work surrounding the knots.

Knowing nothing about tats, I have a question. It looks like your calf was shaved for it. Won't the effect be spoiled when the hair grows back?

As my tattoo is in the same spot, I can say the effect isn't lost at all.

The hair doesn't really make a difference in the tattoo itself, and my hair is a little thicker than TimC's. Now, there is a noticeable difference as the ink sets: your tattoo never looks as good as when you first get off the table. But, hair doesn't do too much to it.
