NJ/ NYC area newbie

Really, I have to admit that I am a little apprehensive about the first time. I told my friend that sets up these sunday afternoon relaxed get togethers at a music bar in NYC that I would come this sunday- kilted! Now there's no backing out. LOL

I will probably do something local though on saturday. I'm looking for something long sleeved and medium weight to wear with my kilts for the cold weather. Probably a good idea to go kilted and that will be a good test of back bone for me.

Don't be apprehensive about it, I know I wasn't and now every chance I get to go out in mine I do, also don't forget we like to see lots of pictures around here..

It has helped by reading other people's experiences on here.

I know that once I get out there it will eventually be no big deal. It's just the initial stupidity, lack of education, meaness, etc. that I may have to deal with. I think the negative will be far less than the positive though- just based on the reaction I've gotten from people I've told about my plans to wear a kilt. I've got a thick skin though...so I'm gonna be fine.

I promise to get some pictures up here when the weekend is over. All my friends have digital cameras and I can guarantee you that I will have plenty to choose from.
