This is me about 10 years ago in a recording studio with the band I played in...

I haven't played since 2000, but I may get back into it once we move. I'm self taught and couldn't read sheet music if you held a gun to my head. However, I can follow along and can usually learn most songs by ear.
If I can do it, you can too! Go for it.
