My story with the tartan is this. I bought six metres of the 14oz wool From Fraser and Kirkbright sometime ago. I was saving it to be made into a kilt as it was a nice tartan and it had some connection to both MacKenzie and MacKay. The tartan sat at my place for at least a year. After investigating different kiltmakers I decided that the MacKenzie Morgan would be a nice kilt, but what I really wanted was a Lochcarron Weathered MacKenize. So I sold off the wool to another member here to raise $$$ for the WM order. Plus the tartan wa stoo nice to sit in my closet until I used it.
Here's the post putting the wool up for sale http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/6...x.html?t=23477
The Scottish Tartan Authority had some information on the actual tartan.
It's been a long road for Paul to finally get this kilt, so I am very happy to see it in kilt form.
