Just for the record, there is a pipe band of Marine vets---but think "dress blues" kilt ... it's very striking:
Perhaps if the Corps adopted the Leatherneck tartan, they'd use it, too.
There are active-service USMC pipers, but I don't know whether they have any official organization.

Hey, what great news. I got mine...a USA Kilts semi-trad in U.S. Army tartan.
Have a West Point tartan shirt from L.L. Bean too....probably too much to wear the West Point tartan shirt with the U.S. Army tartan kilt....even to celebrate....

Riverkilt, you need to take a pic of the kilt and tartan shirt. Just for the fun of it.

I told a friend of mine about the Army tartan...he's thrilled (a long time Army member AND kilt wearer!)!

It's not official until it makes it into the next AR 670-1. When that happens, I'll order my "tank" from Alexis Malcolm with my next breath. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I really don't see it becoming general uniform wear any time soon. At most, it may be chosen for pipe bands.

I have to say I wouldn't mind it happening, but knowing the way things move in the Army, suspect it will not happen - at least not for a long time. Of course that would not stop me from wearing one.
It kinda goes along with my ancient Lamont.
